Paper goods
I had planned to buy our paper goods from an etsy seller or online invitation vendor, but I couldn't find anything that I fell in love with. I also want to try to go with a vintage Hawaiian feel for some of our paper goods, and I wasn't able to find very many with that type of design incorporated into them.
So this is what I did instead. :)

Save the Dates
This is the Save The Date postcard that we sent out. I used zazzle.com, where I found a background design that I loved, then added the text in the Islander font that I selected. I love how they turned out!
Invitation designs (aka Try and Try Again)
I couldn't find anything from invitation vendors that captured the feel i was looking for, so I learned to use GIMP, a free image manipulation program, and I altered an image I found of a hula girl on a beach, which I loved and wanted to incorporate into the invitation. Unfortunately, when I printed it on cardstock the image was so degraded that it looked really sloppy.
At the same time, I was reading posts from Seattle Knottie Sarack, who was using a new (to me) technique where you decorate paper with stamps rather than by printing a design on them. I went to Impress, the local stamp shop, and got started. My first attempt is below. I love how personal and almost aged this technique looks. The raffia ended up making the whole thing too expensive, so I tried something different.
The fonts in my final version are from dafont.com - the script is Summertime and the decorative font is Jellyka Endless Voyage.
